Goodbye to Mrs. Knutton
In January Mrs. Knutton reached the milestone of working at Brant Broughton Church of England and Methodist Primary School for 20 years. She has seen over 200 children go through her class and all of those children have her to thank for giving them such a brilliant start to their school life. Mrs. Knutton is an excellent, loyal and hard working teacher and in recognition of her commitment to the school and all its children over the years and her continued excellence as a teacher we nominated her for a National Teaching Award.
Sadly after 34 years in teaching Mrs. Knutton will be retiring in July. She will be missed by all of our children, families, staff and Governors. Mrs. Knutton has not only been a great class teacher but also a Governor, the maths & Special Needs coordinator and importantly the PE coordinator at our sports mad school. She has coached the netball team and also organized and led many of our football, rounders, cricket, hockey and rugby teams to victory and thanks to her our trophy cabinet is bulging.
Even though we have to say goodbye many of Mrs. Knutton’s quirky sayings and ways will remain with us for a long time and her shoes will definitely be hard to fill. We wish her all our love and best wishes for the future.
To celebrate and say goodbye to Mrs. Knutton we will be holding a Top Secret celebration
evening on Tuesday 20th April at 5.30 pm. We would like to invite parents, past
staff and pupils and friends of Mrs. Knutton (sorry, no current school children)
to join us to give her a great send-

Welcome to Brant Broughton Church of England and Methodist Primary School, a unique school within the village of Brant Broughton combining two historical traditions of Education, the Church of England Aided Junior School on the High Street and the Methodist Infant school, right next to the school on Mill Lane. This joint faith tradition is reflected in the Governing Body’s appointment of foundation Governors, who underpin the Christian Ethos of our School, by taking School Assemblies, providing time for reflection and monitoring provision for Religious Education and Personal, Social and Health Education. In addition the Bishop of Lincoln has appointed a visitor for the school and the Methodist Church a formal education Secretary, both these appointments contribute to the Section 48 Inspection, which all Church schools are subject to in addition to an Ofsted Inspection.
In this school, Every Child Matters, all members of staff are committed to ensuring
the safety, well being and progress of each individual. We are totally committed
to Partnership with Parents and the community, which the school serves.
Our School
operates an open door Policy, you are welcome to visit at any time and we will always
do our best to listen and act on your concerns.
