Minister’s Message.
Dear Friends,
This is a time of celebration as we remember the Saviour’s Birth for mankind.
I am sure we shall celebrate all the more as we remember that His birth was no ordinary Birth.
The babe of Bethlehem was very special for many wonderful reasons.
He was God’s gift to mankind. John’s Gospel chapter 3 verse 16 say’s “For God so Loved the
world that He gave His one and only Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but
have Eternal Life” NIV.
1. We all enjoy receiving gifts and giving at Christmas. A gift reminds us of someone’s
love for us. What is true of earthly gifts is also true of God’s great gift to all of us, the
gift of Jesus Christ His Only Son.
As we celebrate the Birth of the Saviour of the world let us all celebrate the fact He was:
1. God’s great gift to all who believe because he loved us so much.
“For God Loved the world so much that He gave.”
2. God’s supreme sacrifice for us.
As the Hymn writer wrote
“Born that man no more may die,
Born to raise the Son’s of earth
Born to give them second Birth.”
What a cause for Celebration!! All because God loved us so much.
3. God’s great purpose for us.
The text says “that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting
Life” That is God’s purpose for us: Everlasting Life. Life with a capital L.
Friends let us respond to the heavenly Fathers love and gift to us this Advent Season
by praying sincerely in the words of the Carol;
“O come to my heart Lord Jesus, there is room in my heart for Thee.”
Carol joins me along with all the friends at the chapel in Leasingham to wish you all a
very Happy Christmas. May God bless you all.

At the beginning of November, 27 decorated shoe boxes were sent to the
Samaritan Trust. These boxes, filled with gifts, go to disadvantaged
children and this year our boxes are going to the Crimea,South Ukraine.
We thank friends who helped to fill the boxes.
The Remembrance Day Service held on November 8th was conducted by
Rev. Hazel Ratcliffe of London Hazel was born in Brant Broughton and is a
Methodist minister serving churches in South London.
The Carol Service will be held this year on Sunday December 20th.
2009 has been a very busy year at the chapel where much restoration
work has been carried out. There are new windows and a new main door,
internal woodwork has been repaired or in some cases replaced, and the
interior has been redecorated. We thank everyone for the wonderful
support received over the years which has made this work possible.
May we now wish you a Joyful Christmas and Happy and Peaceful New Year.
